December 18th, 2011

Global day of action against racism and for the rights

of migrants, refugees and displaced people
Whether talking about integration, debates on
Europe’s borders or refugee policies: the experiences
of racism are omnipresent for people who decide to
migrate, are forced to flee or are made to foreigners
in their own country.
We would like to take December 18th as an
opportunity to talk about experiences of resistance.
We will tell you something encouraging and
activating about the topics of migration and racism,
that contain so many frustrations. Hence, we invite
you to an evening of reports, stories, music, food,
proposals and talks.
On the one hand, people will talk about their stories
of success and practical support: It is about their way
to Europe and resistance against racism at different
places. On the other hand, we would like to present
the idea of action „Boats4People“ which is aiming
at jointly regaining possibilities of action for people
from Tunisia and Europe, given the many thousands of
people who drowned this year in the Mediterranean
Sea on their way to Europe. With a live broadcast
to Tunis, on the occasion of the anniversary of the
revolution, we are going to address the situation of
local activists.
