اسدالله شفایی، مترجم و روزنامه نگار تأکید کرد که رسانه های غربی چهره ای ناقص و منفی از جامعه و مردم افغانستان ارائه کرده و بر رنج و محرومیت افغانها تمرکز کرده اند و پای این نحوه برخورد به عرصه سینما و فیلمهای مستند نیز کشیده شده است. به گفته وی، در مرحله گذار جامعه افغانستان از سنت به نوگرایی، نباید به جنبه های امیدبخش تحولات اجتماعی و فرهنگی عظیم در این کشور بی توجهی شود.
آقای صادقی زاده از دیگر سخنرانان اصلی کنفرانس مطالبی درباره اسلام و خشونت ارائه کرد و گفت که برداشت خشونت گرایانه گروههای تندرو چون القاعده و طالبان نباید به عموم مسلمانان تعمیم داده شود. او درباره جایگاه زنان در اسلام تأکید کرد که آیینهای توحیدی به شمول اسلام مقام رفیعی برای زنان قایلند، ولی برخی سنتهای ناپسند و غیردینی، ذهنیتی منفی در مورد نقش زنان در جامعه اسلامی به وجود آورده است.
در این میان سخنان کاترینا فوتو نماینده نهاد حمایت از زنان پناهنده و مهاجر بیشتر فضای موجود در یونان را بازتاب می داد. او ضمن ابراز خوشحالی در این مورد که در این نشست زنان بیشتر از مردان سهم گرفته اند، گفت فعالیتهای نهادهای غیریونانی و مربوط به پناهجویان باید در یونان مورد استقبال قرار گیرد و نباید آن را نوعی تهدید برای جامعه یونان به شمار آورد.

به گفته آقای محمدی، برگزاری چنین نشستهایی باعث خواهد شد تا علاوه بر جنگ به دستاوردهای مثبت یک دهه اخیر در افغانستان در عرصه های فرهنگی و اجتماعی نیز اشاره شود و مردم و رسانه های یونان، افغانها را صرفا به دید القاعده و طالبان ننگرند.
اثرات بحران اقتصادی بر وضعیت پناهجویان
یونان با سابقه تمدنی درخشانش در گذشته به عنوان مهد دموکراسی، اندیشه و فلسفه، اکنون درگیر بحران اقتصادی عظیمی است که به نظر می رسد توجهات اتحادیه اروپا و مساعدتهای صندوق بین المللی پول نیز، دست کم در آینده نزدیک، تغییر بزرگی در شرایط دشوار آن به وجود نخواهد آورد.
یونانیان شناخت درستی از جامعه و مردم افغانستان ندارند

از سوی دیگر بحران عظیم اقتصادی که تغییرات سیاسی زیادی را نیز به دنبال داشته، به رشد و تقویت گروههای نژادپرست و نفوذ آنان به درون نهادهای دولتی در این کشور دامن زده و همین امر باعث شده است تا برخی از نهادهای مدافع حقوق پناهجویان فعالیت خود را کاهش دهند و شماری از فعالان نیز این کشور را ترک کنند.
